Tampa Bay forward Ondrej Palat, notably absent from Lightning pregame warmups before the team’s meeting with the Carolina Hurricanes at Amalie Arena on Thursday, is day-to-day with a lower-body injury the team announced just before puck drop against the Hurricanes.
Palat won’t play against Carolina.
Palat skated in all 29 Lightning games prior to the Carolina matchup. He is sixth on Tampa Bay for points (19), tallying eight goals and 11 assists.
Palat missed practice on Wednesday in what the team described as a body maintenance day. He also wasn’t around for an optional morning skate on Thursday.
With Palat out, Alex Killorn slid into his spot on the triplets line with Tyler Johnson and Nikita Kucherov.
