Nuts and Bolts: Lightning can match history on regular season's final day

The Bolts can equal the NHL record for wins in a season with a victory over the Bruins in the regular season finale

The Lightning close out the regular season on Saturday afternoon with a matchup vs. the Bruins in Boston. 

The Bolts earned their 61st win of the season on Thursday night in Toronto, moving them within one of the NHL record set by the 1995-96 Red Wings. Boston comes in off a 3-0 shutout victory over the Wild on Thursday.

The Lightning became just the second team in NHL history to reach 61 wins following their victory Thursday and can match the League record for wins in a season with a victory today, tying the Detroit Red Wings' 62-win season from 1995-96...The Bolts' 126 points are the fifth most all-time in a single season in the NHL; the Lightning can pass the 1976-76 Montreal Canadiens (127 pts.) for fourth most points with a victory today...Tampa Bay's 29 road wins are the second-most in a single season in League history...The Lightning can become just the second team in NHL history to reach 30 road wins, joining the 2005-06 Detroit Red Wings (31 road wins), with a victory today...Tampa Bay owns a +100 goal differential -- 36 goals more than second place Calgary (+64) -- and is aiming to become the 40th NHL team all-time with a +100 or greater goal differential and first since 2005-06 Ottawa (+103)...The Bolts have scored 313 goals (not including shootout-deciding goals), the most in the NHL since Washington tallied 313 goals in 2009-10 (the Lightning will have scored the most goals of any team in the Salary Cap era if they pass Washington's mark).
