No morning skate today, but Niittymaki expected to start tonight vs Canes

by Lightning Insider / Tampa Bay Lightning

The Bolts will try and use the home ice advantage to snap a little losing streak tonight when they take on the Carolina Hurricanes.  The two teams are both tied with 68 points.

The Lightning did not skate this morning, well not the game group anyway.  Mattias Ohlund (lower body) and Ryan Malone (upper body) both skated on their own today so that is some great news.  Ohlund told the media today that he may be ready as early as Thursday in Boston.

The active players had an 11 a.m. meeting to watch some video in preparation for tonight's game and then headed home for some afternoon relaxation.

Doesn't sound like there will be too many changes to the line up tonight.  The only change up front will be that Mark Parrish, a healthy scratch in Florida on Sunday, will be a game-time decision.  In goal, Antero Niittymaki will get the nod after getting Sunday off.

Rick Tocchet said today that the team needs to find ways to win instead of finding ways to lose games, pointing out that momentum and swing in the wrong direction too.  "We have to leave it all on the ice," he said.

Tomorrow the Lightning will take their 2009-10 team photo before practice and then head to Boston for Thursday's game with the Boston Bruins.  It will be the first of four consecutive games on the road and will put an end to all but one of the Lightning's season road schedule.
