The Lightning have now won 11 consecutive games, setting a franchise record. The record-setting win came on the road against the top-ranked offensive team in the league (the Lightning entered the game second to Colorado in goals scored per game). So the big takeaway from the victory was how well the Lightning defended against the prolific Avs. Outside of a tough few shifts early in the game and a wobbly segment late in the second period, the Lightning played a strong defensive game. They rebounded well from Saturday's leaky third period against Philadelphia.
