First of all, high marks to the Boston Bruins, who played an excellent game. They look dialed-in as a team and, in winning this contest, extended their points streak to 15 games (11-0-4). They defended hard and effectively in front of their goalie. At the same time, they repeatedly attacked the Lightning's end with speed and owned most of the puck possession time.

The Lightning, on the other hand, looked like a tired team. And they played like a tired team. Their passing was off-target, they missed the net with a number of their shot attempts and, as the game progressed, their coverage got looser. Their game lacked jump. They managed only nine shots on goal through the first two periods. In the third, while they generated a bit more offensive zone pressure, they also made some critical mistakes that cost them defensively.
Louis Domingue turned in a terrific performance and kept the game close until the middle of the third period, when the Bruins broke it open. He made a handful of highlight-reel saves along the way.
This was not only the Lightning's second game in as many nights, it was their third game in four nights and 15th contest during February's 28 days. March will be less busy, with 13 contests in the month. The first of those will take place on Saturday against Ottawa. That will also begin a four-game homestand for the Bolts.
