Tampa Bay Lightning forward Zenon Konopka will throw out the first pitch tomorrow afternoon at Tropicana Field when the Tampa Bay Rays take on the Cleveland Indians at 1:10 p.m.
Konopka, a native of Niagara Falls, Ontario, led the National Hockey League in 2009-10 with 265 penalty minutes and fighting major penalties with 33, the most since 1997-98. He set a Lightning franchise record for most penalty minutes in a season, surpassing Enrico Ciccone’s mark of 258 set in 1995-96. Konopka also ranked second on Tampa Bay in face off win percentage with 62.3.
A fan-favorite, his experience will be documented for a video on TampaBayLightning.com.
