Lightning unveil new team license plate

TAMPA BAY – The Tampa Bay Lightning and Florida Sports today unveiled a new license plate with the updated team logo. The new plates are now available at any tax collector office, tag agency or online at with a portion of the proceeds benefitting the Lightning Foundation and the Florida Sports Foundation.

The tag features the updated iconic Lightning bolt logo with 'Tampa Bay Lightning' written across the bottom. There is an annual donation of $25 to the Lightning Foundation and Florida Sports Foundation in addition to state-mandated taxes, fees and vehicle registration. The $25 donation is tax deductible.

Lightning Season Ticket Members who have a Lightning license plate will be rewarded for showing their team spirit. They can simply bring a copy of their 2011 or 2012 Florida vehicle registration and a photo I.D. to the MetroPCS Client Services Lounge to receive a $50 Forum Funds card to use throughout the St. Pete Times Forum on food and beverage.
