Lightning to Host Toys For Tots Drive This Week

by Staff Writer / Tampa Bay Lightning

The Tampa Bay Lightning and the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve will host a Toys for Tots drive beginning today, December 9 through Friday, December 13, including prior to the team’s game against the Detroit Red Wings on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

The Lightning will receive donations of new, unwrapped toys at the McDonald’s © Ticket Office all week during hours of operation (9 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, 9 a.m. until pre-game on Thursday). The Marines will be on hand on Ford Thunder Alley prior to Thursday’s game against the Red Wings to help collect donations. Fans making a donation at any point during the week will receive a ticket voucher good for a free ticket to an upcoming Bolts home game. There is a limit of four per person.

The mission of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.
