Andreychuk, drafted by Buffalo in 1982, played in 1,639 NHL games, including 278 with Tampa Bay. He recorded 19 seasons with 20 goals or more and his 640 career goals make him the 14th-highest scoring player in league history. Andreychuk's 274 career power-play goals are the most all-time. In 2001, he signed with the Lightning as a free agent, bringing accountability and a veteran voice to the Tampa Bay dressing room. He spent four years with the Lightning, his final three as team captain, winning his, and the franchise's, only Stanley Cup Championship in 2004.
In addition to celebrating one of hockey's greatest, Lightning are also partnering with Metropolitan Ministries to host a non-perishable food drive at AMALIE Arena on Ford Thunder Alley prior to the game. This collection will make a tremendous impact for families in need and offer fans the experience of shared joy through giving.
Along with Metropolitan Ministries staff and volunteers, the Bolts Better Halves (players' wives and girlfriends) will be accepting donations of non-perishable food items on Ford Thunder Alley starting at 5 p.m. The first 50 donators of 10 non-perishable food items will receive a signed Andrei Vasilevskiy Autograph Card (maximum of one per person).
Metropolitan Ministries, a faith-based and community supported non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, is funded through the charitable support of the community, including individuals, businesses, congregations, schools, foundations and civic groups, serving the needs of poor and homeless families in Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco and Polk Counties.
