Team is Offering Tickets to Those Submitting Creative Ways to Get Out the Vote

The Tampa Bay Lightning is teaming with Creative TampaBay and TBT (Tampa Bay Times) in a campaign encouraging citizens to get out and vote. The program will reward those with creative ways to get people to the polls on Election Day with tickets to Lightning home games at the St. Pete Times Forum during the 2006-07 National Hockey League season.

"Every election represents an opportunity to shape and define our community and the great nation we live in," said Lightning president Ron Campbell. "Sometimes we take our freedoms and rights for granted with too many of us not voting when given the opportunity. Hopefully, this helps encourage voters to get non-voters to the polls on Tuesday."

Those wishing to make submissions need to go to where they can explain the creative means used to get people to the polls. The top 50 submissions as selected by the board at Creative TampaBay will earn pairs of tickets to a select Lightning home game this season. Creative TampaBay will publish the most creative ideas in its newsletter and on its website.

Creative TampaBay was created in the summer of 2003 with the idea that it would serve as a catalyst for perpetuating the energy and commitment of all who are eager to see Tampa Bay take full advantage of its unique heritage, geography, and economic strengths in building our own creative economy. Today, the organization reaches thousands throughout the region and is proud to have a diverse board representing creative enclaves throughout the seven-counties thatmake up Tampa Bay.
