All those in attendance will have an exclusive opportunity to learn the basic skills of the sport as well as receive one hour of on-ice instruction from Lightning personnel and certified USA Hockey instructor and member of the silver-medal winning US Women’s Olympic Ice Hockey Team, Bri McLaughlin. The use of skates and equipment will be provided. For more information or to pre-register visit A limited number of walk-up registration spots will be available.

All interested participants can add on the “Girl Power Package,” presented by Girl Scouts of West Central Florida, for just $30 to receive lunch, an additional hour of ice time and an interactive session with Bri McLaughlin and instructors from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. A ticket to watch the Lightning take on the Minnesota Wild on November 14 at 5 p.m. is also included. Additional tickets for that night’s game are also available and start as low as $15. To add the “Girl Power Package” and/or tickets to the game please call Alison Goodman at 813.301.6683.

The entire Lightning organization continues to follow through with its commitment of growing the game among diverse populations in Florida, as it currently serves as the only team in the National Hockey League to participate in this unique youth hockey opportunity. It maintains its dedication to community hockey initiatives through a more hands-on approach, with a primary goal to improve the overall quality of the sport by promoting its values across all demographics.
