Lightning & Tampa Bay Sports Commission team up to host Tampa Bay Street Hockey Day on March 11

In advance of the 2012 NCAA® Men’s Frozen Four® in Tampa (April 5 – 7), the Tampa Bay Lightning, along with the Tampa Bay Sports Commission, will host ‘Street Hockey Day’, on the west plaza at the Tampa Bay Times Forum on Sunday, March 11 at noon.

Fans attending the event are encouraged to arrive early and bring their hockey sticks to join the fun on the plaza for street hockey games and more. Hockey equipment will be provided on a limited basis. Fans will also have a chance to meet and mingle with Lightning alumni and personalities, along with local collegiate players during the event. A Lightning player will also be on hand to help fans learn the fundamentals of the game.

After the street hockey games are over on the plaza, there will be free admission to watch local high school seniors play on the ice inside the Times Forum. There will be lots of exciting activities at the game and free ice cream for everyone in attendance. The event is free of charge for all participants.
