Lightning set to host 14th annual Bolt run on March 14

TAMPA BAY - The Tampa Bay Lightning and the Lightning Foundation will hold the 14th annual Bolt Run presented by vitaminwater™, benefiting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful and United Way Suncoast on Saturday, March 14 with the first race starting at 7 a.m. Each registered participant will receive a free ticket to the Lightning's game that night against the Winnipeg Jets at 7 p.m., the March 24 game against the Florida Panthers or the Tampa Bay Storm game on March 27against the Cleveland Gladiators.

The Bolt Run features three separate classifications of races which participants may enter. The five-mile race will begin at 7 a.m., while the 5K event will start at 8:30 a.m. Upon completion of the 5K/five-mile Challenge, each participant will receive a commemorative prize in recognition of their efforts. The one-mile race will feature a start time of 9:30 a.m. and will wrap up the day's festivities. All three races will begin and end at the Amalie Arena, while the pre-event and post-event parties will be held on Ford Thunder Alley.

Each race will feature chip timing and results that will be posted on http://boltrun.racehawk.com. Awards will be distributed to the top three runners, male and female, in each age category to participants in the five-mile and 5K races.

Participants are encouraged to register early at www.tampabaylightning.com/boltrun and to pick up their race packets prior to the day of the event. All runners can pick up their race packet on Wednesday, March 11, Thursday, March 12, between 9:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. and Friday, March 13, between 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. on the West Patio of Amalie Arena.
