Lightning select Sammy Walker in seventh round of NHL Draft

Walker is committed to the University of Minnesota

The Tampa Bay Lightning selected Samuel Walker in the seventh round (pick No. 200), an 18-year-old center from Edina, Minn.

Walker has been a standout for Edina High School the past three seasons, recording 89 points in 75 games. During the 2016-17 season, Walker notched 22 goals and 24 assists for 46 points in just 25 regular season games and added six points (2 goals, 4 assists) in three playoff contests.

Walker also played four games with the Lincoln Stars of the USHL in 2016-17 but didn't record a point.

Walker is a 5-foot-9, 150-pound, right-handed shot. He committed to the University of Minnesota in August of 2015.
