Lightning Round: David Hale

by Staff Writer / Tampa Bay Lightning
On July 21 the Lightning acquired David Hale and Todd Fedoruk in a trade with the Phoenix Coyotes. This week David Hale sits down in the hot seat for The Lightning Round.

What are you most excited to do when you get to Tampa?
I would have to say fishing.

What is your favorite song by “The Killers.”
I mean it’s all pretty relative. I would say they are one of my favorite bands. I would have to go with Mr. Brightside.

“Rescue Me” is your favorite show. Who is your favorite character?
It would have to be Denis Leary.

Rumor has it you really admire Tiger Woods for accomplishing so much. Do you play any golf?
I do, I try to get out once in a while. I just had a daughter so I don’t get out as much as I used to. I still admire Tiger Woods, even though it is kind of a given he is going to win tournaments.

What is your favorite thing to do with your wife during the off season?
Going to our lake cabin, relaxing and enjoying the atmosphere. We like to do water sports and boating.

What kind of movie is your favorite to watch? Any specifically?
I really like edgy comedy. It’s kind of a different humor. Tropic Thunder was pretty good, it’s not necessarily that edgy, but it’s still a good one. I like comedies that try and push buttons.

What kind of food is your favorite to eat when dining out?
I’m excited for the sushi, I’m a sushi lover. I know I will be able to find a good spot.

If you weren’t a hockey player, what would you be?
I believe if I wasn’t a hockey player, I wouldn’t have gotten a scholarship to college so I probably would have ended up going to college, maybe community college and working my way through in Colorado. I would probably still be there. I don’t know what I would be, maybe a ski instructor.

Do you still follow the Canadiens like you did when you were a kid?
I did follow them, but now I’m on the inside and I know the players so obviously I’m not as big as a fan as I used to be.

If you could be anywhere in the world right now, where would you be?
I would have to say anywhere my daughter is.
