TAMPA BAY – The Tampa Bay Lightning have assigned defenseman Bryce Lampman and forward Kyle Wanvig to Norfolk of the American Hockey League, Executive Vice President and General Manager Jay Feaster announced today. Both players cleared waivers at noon today. Forward Mathieu Darche also cleared waivers today, but he will remain with the Lightning.

Following today’s cuts 24 players remain on the roster as the Lightning prepare for their home opener on Thursday, October 4 against the New Jersey Devils at the St. Pete Times Forum (7:30 p.m., Sun Sports, AM 620 WDAE).

Lampman, 6-foot-1 and 201 pounds, played in three preseason games for the Lightning this year and recorded one assist and a plus-2 rating. He also registered two shots on goal. Wanvig, 6-2, 208 pounds, played in four preseason games and scored one goal, a penalty shot, September 19 against Dallas.

The Lightning finished the preseason with a 2-2-1 record as they prepare to open their 15th anniversary season against the Devils on Thursday. For ticket information call 813.301.6600.
