The Tampa Bay Lightning have recalled right wing Brandon Bochenski from the Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League today, Executive Vice President and General Manager Brian Lawton announced.
Bochenski, 6-foot-1, 195 pounds, has played in 35 games with Norfolk this season, recording 16 goals and 32 points. He was recently named a starter on Team PlanetUSA for the AHL All-Star Game. Bochenski leads the Admirals in goals, assists, points, shots on goal (109) and power play goals (6). He is tied with Casey Hankinson for the most goals in Admirals’ franchise history with 76.
A native of Blaine, Minnesota, Bochenski has played in 128 career NHL games with the Lightning, Nashville Predators, Anaheim Ducks, Boston Bruins, Chicago Blackhawks and Ottawa Senators. He has amassed 24 career goals, 55 points and six power play goals. Bochenski played in seven games with Tampa Bay last season, recording an assist. He has also appeared in three career Stanley Cup Playoff games.
Bochenski, 27, signed with the Lightning as a free agent on July 8, 2008. He was selected by Ottawa in the seventh round, 223rd overall, at the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.
