TAMPA BAY – The Tampa Bay Lightning have recalled defenseman Kevin Quick from the Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League today, Executive Vice President and General Manager Brian Lawton announced.
Quick, 6-foot and 175-pounds, has played in four games with the Lightning this season, averaging 13:22 in ice time with a plus-1 rating. He made his NHL debut with Tampa Bay on January 13 at San Jose. Quick has appeared in 49 games with the Admirals this year in his first full professional season, recording a goal and nine points with an even rating. He also played in 18 games with the Augusta Lynx of the ECHL earlier this season, recording two goals and six points.
A native of Buffalo, New York, Quick played his high school hockey at Salisbury Prep School in Connecticut and represented the United States in the 2006 World Junior U-17 Championships, winning a gold medal.
Quick was drafted by the Lightning in the third round, 78th overall, in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
