Lightning Recall D Kevin Quick from Norfolk on Emergency Basis

TAMPA BAY – The Tampa Bay Lightning have recalled defenseman Kevin Quick from Norfolk of the American Hockey League on an emergency basis, Executive Vice President and General Manager Brian Lawton announced.

Quick, 6-foot, 175-pounds, has appeared in 14 games with the Admirals in his first full professional season with a plus-3 rating. He also played in 18 games with the Augusta Lynx of the ECHL earlier this year, recording two goals and six points.

A native of Buffalo, New York, Quick played in 18 games with Norfolk at the end of last season, recording four assists after beginning the season with the University of Michigan. He scored two goals and recorded four points in 21 games with the Wolverines. He played his high school hockey at Salisbury Prep School in Connecticut and represented the United States in the 2006 World Junior U-17 Championships, winning a gold medal.  

Quick was drafted by the Lightning in the third round, 78th overall, in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
