LIGHTNING RECALL C NICK TARNASKY, RW DARREN REID FROM SPRINGFIELD OF THE AHL

The 2004 Stanley Cup Champion Tampa Bay Lightning have recalled center Nick Tarnasky and right wing Darren Reid from Springfield of the American Hockey League, it was announced today by Executive Vice President & General Manager Jay Feaster.
Tarnasky, 23, scored all three goals in Springfield's 3-2 overtime win against Bridgeport last night. The 6-foot-2, 233-pound native of Rocky Mountain House, Alberta, has recorded nine goals, six assists and 72 penalty minutes in 52 games with the Falcons this season.
Tarnasky appeared in nine games with the Lightning earlier this season, recording an assist and four penalty minutes. Selected by the Lightning in the ninth round, 287th overall, at the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, Tarnasky played three seasons in the Western Hockey League with Vancouver, Kelowna and Lethbridge before joining the Falcons last season.
Reid, 22, has recorded five goals, seven assists and 43 penalty minutes in 31 games with Springfield this season. The 6-2, 205-pound native of Lac La Biche, Alberta, has appeared in four games with the Lightning this season. Selected by the Lightning in the eighth round, 256th overall, at the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, Reid is in his second season with the Falcons after playing three seasons with Medicine Hat of the Western Hockey League.
