The Tampa Bay Lightning have recalled center Blair Jones from the Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League, Executive Vice President and General Manager Brian Lawton announced today.
Jones, 6-foot-3, 215 pounds, has played in 26 career NHL games with the Lightning, recording a goal and three points. He has played in two games with Tampa Bay this season December 4 and 5, averaging 12:43 in ice time per game. Jones has played in 225 career AHL games with Norfolk and the Springfield Falcons, recording 45 goals and 136 points.
A native of Central Butte, Saskatchewan, Jones has played in 25 games with the Admirals this season, recording six goals and 19 points. He leads the team in assists and is second in plus/minus rating with a plus-10 as well as in points. Last season Jones set a Norfolk record for shots on goal in a season with 271, good for third in the AHL.
Jones played his junior hockey in the WHL with Moose Jaw and Red Deer. He played in 249 junior games, recording 61 goals and 112 assists. Jones was selected in the fourth round, 102nd overall, of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
