The Tampa Bay Lightning re-signed defenseman Luke Witkowski to a one-year, two-way contract Friday.
The 26-year-old appeared in four games this season after making his NHL debut in 2014-15, when he played in 16 games. Witkowski also made his postseason debut during the 2016 Stanley Cup Playoffs, playing two games during Tampa Bay's Eastern Conference Second Round series against the New York Islanders.

He had 14 points in 70 games with the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League this season.
Witkowski, who could have become a restricted free agent on July 1, was selected by the Lightning in the sixth round (No. 160) in the 2008 NHL Draft.
