The 2004 Stanley Cup Champion Tampa Bay Lightning have re-assigned right wing Darren Reid to Springfield of the American Hockey League today, it was announced by Executive Vice President & General Manager Jay Feaster.

Reid, 22, made his first career NHL appearance Saturday, December 17 against the Detroit Red Wings. He skated in four games with Tampa Bay, averaging 6:32 of ice time per game. A 6-foot-2, 205-pound native of Lac La Biche, Alberta, Reid has skated in 21 games with the Falcons this season scoring four goals and recording 10 points. He scored one power play goal and one shorthanded goal.

Reid made is professional debut in 2004-05 and appeared in 56 games, scoring three goals with 19 assists. He ranked seventh on the team in penalty minutes with 99.

He was selected by the Lightning in the eighth round, 256th overall, at the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.
