In time for another exciting season of Lightning hockey, Lightning Radio’s weekly show Lightning Hockey Night returns this Wednesday night at 7 p.m. on WHNZ1250-AM and the team’s iHeartRadio stationLightning Power Play . Hosts Rick Peckham and Bobby “The Chief” Taylor will have the latest news on the Lightning as the team prepares for the opening of training camp on Thursday. Beginning in October,Lightning Hockey Night will shift to WDAE 620-AM, continuing to bring Lightning fans exclusive interviews and opinions on Tampa Bay’s only hockey-themed radio show.
In conjunction with the start of training camp on Thursday, September 17th ,Lightning Power Play will continue its transition back to regular season programming, starting with live coverage from the opening day of training camp at 10 a.m. Along with daily training camp updates,Lightning Power Play will broadcast live from Fan Fest this Sunday beginning at 9 a.m., with Dave Mishkin providing the play-by-play call of team scrimmages throughout the morning. A season full of entertaining, exclusive programs for Lightning fans can be heard on Lightning Power Play, which can be found by searching “Lightning Power Play” on your iHeartRadio app, or by logging on to TBLPowerPlay.com.
Lightning fans can listen to all preseason, regular season and playoff games onLightning Power Play , flagship station 970 WFLA-AM, or any of the seven West Central Florida stations that make up the Lightning Radio Network. The Lightning Radio Network, presented by PODS during the 2015-16 season, features the energetic Dave Mishkin on the play-by-play call and Lightning founder Phil Esposito providing color commentary. The network also welcomes Greg Linnelli as its new game day host, as team director of broadcasting/programming Matt Sammon continues to co-hostThe Last Call following home games with Bobby Taylor and Brian Engblom.
