Traverse City, MI - The Tampa Bay Lightning prospects participating at the Traverse City Prospect Tournament left the tournament with a bang following an 8-7 win over the Minnesota Wild in the final day of play.
Marek Bartanus scored twice for the Lightning while Maxime Boisclair added a goal and an assist. David Desharnais pitched in with three assists and Blair Jones scored a goal while recording one assist.
After regulation and overtime the game remained tied at seven, sending the game to a shootout. In the shootout goaltender Karri Ramo turned aside all three Minnesota shooters while Radek Smolenak scored the lone goal to win the game for the Lightning. Smolenak also scored a goal in regulation. Ramo finished the game with 38 saves.
Tampa Bay finished the tournament with a record of 1-2-1. Select players from the prospect tournament, including Marek Kvapil, Smolenak, Bartanus, Blair Jones, Ramo and more will report to the Lightning's training camp which begins on Thursday at the Ice Sports Forum in Brandon.
