Lightning Prospect Performer of the Week

by Turner Batten / Tampa Bay Lightning

Alex Hutchings, the Tampa Bay Lightning’s fourth-round draft pick 2009, is the Lightning Prospect Performer of the Week for the period ending on November 12, 2012.

Hutchings, currently playing in the ECHL with the Florida Everblades, got off to a somewhat slow start this season. Through his first eight games he was only able to muster up one goal, but did accumulate five assists.

However, this past week Hutchings went on a tear. He recorded at least a goal in all three of the Everblades games this week and posted two multi-point games to finish the week off with five goals, an assist and a plus-5 rating.

On Friday night Hutchings kept it going in a huge way by recording a hat trick in a 5-3 Everblades victory before closing out the week on Saturday night with a goal against Gwinnett.

Hutchings’ scoring tear has ascended him up the stat sheet as he currently sits fourth on the Everblades in scoring and his six goals for the season move him into a tie for second.
