Lightning Launch 'Tampa Bay Lightning Care' Program in Partnership with the Statewide Amateur Hockey of Florida

TAMPA BAY – The Tampa Bay Lightning, in partnership with Statewide Amateur Hockey of Florida (SAHOF) and My Team Cares, have launched, an online component of the overall Tampa Bay Lightning Care program which is designed to help maximize the youth sports experience for athletes and their families.  Membership is free and is available by registering on

“We are extremely pleased to be partnering with SAHOF to offer this great resource to our area’s youth and their families, “ Lightning vice president of sales and marketing Brad Lott said.  “This program is just another way the Lightning are helping to grow amateur hockey in Tampa Bay and throughout the state of Florida.”

“This is a groundbreaking program that has many valuable tools for our members.” SAHOF president Jeff Wood said. "With the support of the Tampa Bay Lightning, we are able to provide the youth hockey community the resources and information they need to succeed.”

The online resource provides players, parents, league administrators, and coaches with valuable information regarding health, injury, and stress along with video content featuring drills, real-life stories from professional athletes including Lightning players, and more.  The web site is structured to focus specifically on hockey, but can also be related to other youth sports.
