Lightning Unveil New Logo, Jersey Systems Along with Vision and Brand Aspiration
As the Tampa Bay Lightning unveiled a new logo and vision for the future today as part of its brand and business transformation, the franchise also introduced a revolutionary new jersey concept for its season ticket holders, to debut for the 2011-12 National Hockey League season. All full season ticket holders for the upcoming season will receive a home game jersey with their respective season ticket commitments. The jersey will be reserved exclusively for full season ticket holders with its own distinctive identifying marks.
In addition to the sweater’s distinct look, a microchip will be inserted in the sleeve, thereby allowing season ticket holders to be identified at concession stands and merchandise shops throughout the St. Pete Times Forum. By scanning these embedded sleeves, fans will receive a 25% discount on all concessions in the arena and a 35% discount on all merchandise purchased at the Times Forum during Lightning games.
“As our number one stakeholders, our season ticket holders deserve benefits and experiences that nobody else can receive,” said Lightning Chief Executive Officer Tod Leiweke while introducing the jerseys. “We look forward to building a unique, unparalleled relationship with our fans and the jersey concept typifies that.”
Additionally, a plan for the future is being developed with Lightning sponsors to give season ticket holders discounts for merchandise and services throughout Tampa Bay. It’s part of the team’s plan to offer full season ticket holders a more comprehensive array of membership privileges than anywhere in the sports industry.
