Lightning Hockey Night, the Tampa Bay Lightning weekly radio show, will be broadcasting live this Wednesday from WingHouse of New Port Richey for the show's last WingHouse appearance of the summer. The show airs from 7-8 p.m. with the party starting at 6 p.m. Lightning fans can join in the fun and festivities with ThunderBug and the Lightning Girls as they will be on-site with prizes and giveaways.
Wednesday's show will feature Game Day Host Matt Sammon and former Lightning forward Chris Dingman. Chris played in Tampa Bay for four seasons and was a part of the 2003-04 Stanley Cup Championship season.
Matt and Chris will talk on the phone with the Lightning's newly acquired left wing Ryan Malone
at 7:15 p.m. Malone, 27, signed a seven-year contract with the Lightning. A Pittsburgh native, Malone was drafted by Pittsburgh and has played his entire NHL career with the Penguins. He has scored at least 20 goals in three of his four NHL seasons. Malone, known for his grit, broke his nose in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals this past season, and was later hit in the face with a slap shot in Game 5.
Joining the program via phone at 7:30 p.m. will be new Lightning forward Gary Roberts. Roberts, a 20-year NHL veteran, played 38 games with Pittsburgh last season, recording three goals and 15 points. At 42, Roberts is a veteran of almost 1,200 NHL games and has recorded more than 900 points and 2,533 penalty minutes.
