Less than a week after the end of the Tampa Bay Lightning’s 2006-07 season, general manager Jay Feaster talked with the voice of Lightning radio, Dave Mishkin, and host Matt Samon on Lightning Hockey Night. Answering questions about the team’s most recent campaign, Feaster talked candidly about the coming off-season and what to expect before next year.
In addition to talking about the Lightning’s first round series against the New Jersey Devils, the trio discussed a variety of other subjects related to the club. From the budget to the salary cap, Feaster talked about what to expect next season and how this year’s free agency period could affect the team.
Also on tap was Feaster’s desire to add depth to the forward lines and defense, as well as discussion about the current goaltending situation. In addition to looking for a second-line forward to play with Brad Richards, Feaster talked about the importance of keeping the “Big Four.”
Reflecting on the past campaign, Feaster and the Lightning are ready to move forward during the off-season and continue building a team as they look to reclaim a Stanley Cup title.
