Lightning Equipment Manager Ray Thill Works 1,000th Professional Game Tonight

TAMPA BAY – Tampa Bay Lightning Head Equipment Manager Ray Thill will work his 1,000th professional hockey game tonight when the Lightning face the Nashville Predators at the St. Pete Times Forum (7:30 p.m.; Sun Sports, AM620 WDAE).



Thill, a Chicago native, is in his 10th season with the Lightning after being named head equipment manager prior to the 1999-2000 season. Before joining the Lightning, Thill spent one season as equipment manager of the International Hockey League’s Detroit Vipers and four seasons on the equipment staff of the IHL’s Chicago Wolves.


In his career Thill has captured a Stanley Cup (Lightning, 2004) and a Turner Cup (Chicago, 1998), and he also served as the equipment manager for Team USA at the 2008 World Championships in Canada.
