The Tampa Bay Lightning and WTOG-TV Channel 44 (CW44) in Tampa Bay are once again joining forces to bring Lightning fans two exciting games in high definition this upcoming season. With the inclusion of the two CW44 Lightning broadcasts, all of the Lightning’s 82 games will be available in the Tampa Bay market on either local or national broadcasts.
CW44 will air two games during the season, with its first broadcast on November 16 at the Phoenix Coyotes at 8 p.m. and then on April 5 against the Dallas Stars at 7 p.m.
“We are very pleased to welcome back CW44 as our over-the-air partner for the 2013-14 season,” Lightning chief operating officer Steve Griggs said. “CW44 continues to be a valuable partner in allowing us to expand our broadcast reach and allow our great fans to see more Lightning hockey in the Bay Area. We would like to thank them for their ongoing dedication to the Lightning and our fans.”
The broadcast team of play-by-play man Rick Peckham, color analyst Bobby “The Chief” Taylor, remains intact for both games on CW44.
“For the past eight years, the Tampa Bay Lightning has been a tremendous partner with CW44 and we’re pleased to bring our CW44 viewers the games again this season,” said vice president and general manager of CW44, Stan Gill. “CW44 respects the role The Lightning plays in our community and we relish the opportunity to provide CW44 viewers programming that brings them closer to our local sports teams. Both the Lightning and CW44 are dedicated to providing the Tampa Bay community with quality sports entertainment and we are very excited to continue our partnership.”
The Lightning and CW44 have teamed up to broadcast games for each of the past four seasons, providing world-class coverage for Lightning fans to watch their favorite team. Both the Lightning and CW44 have strong ties in helping the Tampa Bay community with numerous initiatives to better the living conditions in the Bay area.
