Nikita Kucherov led with way with three points as the Lightning defeated the Panthers 5-2 at the BB&T Center on Sunday evening.

The Lightning forward scored twice and added an assist to break out of a 10-game scoreless drought.

Kucherov opened the scoring, beating Panthers goaltender James Reimer with a shot from the circle four minutes into the game.

Steven Stamkos doubled the Lightning's lead 12 minutes into the second period. Stamkos went hard to the net and redirected a feed from Anton Stralman past Reimer.

After Frank Vatrano pulled the Panthers back within a goal, Ryan Callahan scored on a breakaway to build the Lightning's lead back up to two. Mathieu Joseph was able to push the puck forward to Callahan who beat Reimer on a backhand. Callahan was added to the lineup after the team announced that Ondrej Palat was day-to-day with an upper-body injury and wouldn't be able to dress.

Denis Malgin closed out a back-and-forth second period, scoring 59 seconds after Callahan to make it a one-goal game headed into the third period.

Power play goals from Brayden Point and Kucherov in the third period, however, helped the Bolts put the game away.

In addition to Kucherov's solid performance, four other Lightning players registered multi-point outings. Steven Stamkos (1G, 1A), Brayden Point (1G, 1A), J.T. Miller (2A) and Anton Stralman (2A) all found their way onto the scoresheet multiple times.

The Lightning now return to Tampa to begin a three-game homestand that gets underway on Tuesday night vs. the Flames.
