Half-season and 10-game mini plan prices are decreasing as well. Single game ticket prices for the 2009-10 season have not yet been determined.
“With one of the biggest arenas in the National Hockey League, a difficult economic time facing our fans and team performance not where we hoped it would be, we know the right thing to do is to decrease prices in many of the areas,” said Oren Koules, owner and governor of the Lightning. “We continue to be very bullish about our future, excited for the organization and for our fans as we move forward. We hope these price structures, along with the cornerstones we have in place for our future growth on the ice, energize our fans for next season.”
Highlighting the price decreases are the reclassification of nearly 1300 terrace (upper) level seats, whose price decreases to $239 for the season or just $5.69, plus tax, per game. Some of these seats cost season tickets holders up to $1199 for the 2008-09 season. When combined with those that were available at that price in 2008-09, nearly 4,000 (or approximately 20%) of the Times Forum’s seats will be available for $239. Half season packages will be just $149.00 in the same area.
The remainder of terrace level seating will decrease by 20%. Many of the plaza (lower) and club level seats will decrease from 6-12% for the season and fans can sit in the plaza level for as low as $35.69 per game plus tax, per seat.
In addition to the price reductions, the Lightning are offering an 8-month payment plan for ticket buyers, allowing payment to be spread out and monthly costs lowered for those that choose to pay over time. Fans that pay for their season ticket accounts in full by March 27th will receive a 3% rebate in Times Forum dollars, which can be used at any time for food & beverage or merchandise inside the St. Pete Times Forum at Lightning events.
