TAMPA BAY - The Tampa Bay Lightning have assigned defenseman Luke Witkowski and forward Gabriel Dumont to the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League today, vice president and general manager Steve Yzerman announced. The Lightning roster is now at 24.

Witkowski, 6-foot-2, 217 pounds, has played in three games for the Lightning during this preseason, registering 11 penalty minutes and a plus-1 rating. He has played in 20 career NHL games, all with Tampa Bay, with 19 penalty minutes. Witkowski has played in two career Stanley Cup Playoff games, both last season, notching a plus-1 rating.
The Holland, Michigan native was drafted by the Lightning in the sixth round, 160th overall, of the 2008 NHL Draft.
Dumont, 5-10, 190 pounds, skated in two preseason games and recorded four shots on goal. He appeared in 71 games with the St. John's IceCaps of the AHL last season, notching 19 goals and 49 points. Dumont has played in 18 career NHL games, all with the Montreal Canadiens, recording a goal and three points. He has also skated in 389 career AHL games with St. John's and the Hamilton Bulldogs, registering 92 goals and 203 points.
The native of Ville Degelis, Quebec, Dumont was signed by the Bolts on July 1, 2016.
