TAMPA BAY – The Tampa Bay Lightning assigned forward Dana Tyrell to the Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League today, Vice President and General Manager Steve Yzerman announced. The move, accompanied with the placing of defenseman Mattias Ohlund on injured reserve, gives the Lightning their final 23-man roster to start the season.
Tyrell, a native of Airdrie, Alberta, played in five exhibition games with the Bolts this preseason, with a plus-1 rating and six shots on goal. He played in 78 games with Tampa Bay during 2010-11, notching six goals and 15 points. Tyrell also played in seven Stanley Cup Playoff games with the Lightning before being sidelined by injury.
