TAMPA BAY - The Tampa Bay Lightning is proud to announce the launch of a new streaming video morning show, The Morning Skate, presented by Tampa General Hospital. The Morning Skate will make its debut on TampaBayLightning.com and the new Lightning mobile app on Thursday, October 13 at 10:30 a.m., as the Lightning prepares for its season opener against the Detroit Red Wings. The 30-minute show will stream live during the Lightning's morning skate prior to all regular season home games, bringing fans the latest team and NHL news, while also diving deep into that night's matchup. Thursday's debut will feature hosts Rick Peckham, Brian Engblom, Dave Andreychuk, and a special guest, Lightning Vice President and General Manager, Steve Yzerman.

"We're constantly looking for new ways to bring our fans even closer to the game," Lightning Director of Broadcasting & Programming Matt Sammon said. "With a live report from the morning skate, and top-notch commentary and interviews from the people watching our team on a daily basis, we can bring our fans in to the arena no matter where they are watching the show from. And we certainly couldn't have done it without the promotional support of our great partner, Tampa General Hospital."

"The Lightning organization consistently provides support for Tampa General's Children's Medical Center patients, whether it involves refurbishing the play room or player visits with the children," said Mike Gorsage, Senior Vice president, Chief Strategy & Business Development Officer at Tampa General Hospital. We're thrilled to help the Lightning enhance the fan experience through our support of The Morning Skate show."

In addition to the live video stream on TampaBayLightning.com and the Lightning mobile app, portions of the program will be posted at TampaBayLightning.com later in the day, while the audio from the show will kick off three and a half hours of exclusive local coverage of each game on Lightning Power Play, the Lightning's 24/7 streaming radio station. You can access the station by searching "Lightning Power Play" on your iHeartRadio app or by visiting TBLPowerPlay.com.
