TAMPA BAY - The Lightning High School Hockey League (LHSHL) today named Sarasota forward Morgan Winters the league's Honda Player of the Month for October.

Winters collected four goals and three assists for a total of 7 points in October, including a two-goal performance against Seminole in a 5-4 win. The freshman has recorded a goal in every one of Sarasota's games this season and currently leads the team with 16 points in eight games. Winters currently plays travel hockey for Tampa U16 AAA Hockey and attends Venice High School. Despite taking all honors classes and participating in a Pre-IB program, he still maintains a 4.1 GPA.
Winters will receive a personal replica trophy to recognize his accomplishments, along with his name engraved on the permanent award to be awarded to the Honda Player of the Year.
