TAMPA BAY - The Lightning High School Hockey League (LHSHL) today named Seminole senior Erik Peavey and George Jenkins junior Luke Rouleau the league's Honda Players of the Month for December and January, respectively.
Peavey recorded five goals and two assists over the course of three games during the month of December. Seminole won all three of these games, including a win over Steinbrenner in which Peavey recorded a hat trick. The Sharks forward will graduate this Spring with his High School Diploma from Osceola High School and his Associate's Degree from St. Petersburg College. Peavey also plays junior hockey and was recently selected to the EJEPL All-Star Team. Upon graduation, Peavey plans to play junior hockey in Canada and attend college on his way to becoming an attorney.
Rouleau collected 12 goals and six assists for a total of 18 points over the span of five games in January. The defenseman scored a goal in every game during the month of January, including a five-goal performance against Sarasota. Along with Rouleau's goal scoring, the junior collected at least two points in each game last month as his team went 3-1-1. In addition to playing on the ice hockey team, Rouleau is also a member of the Bartow High School Stage Band. Rouleau also plays hockey for the Tampa AAA U16 team while balancing AP and IB classes with a weighted GPA of 4.651 and an unweighted GPA of 4.0.
Peavey and Rouleau will receive personal replica trophies to recognize their accomplishments, along with their names engraved on the permanent award that will be given to the Honda Player of the Year at the end of the season.
