Getting to know Brendan Mikkelson

Mikkelson is a second-round pick by Anaheim in the 2005 Entry Draft.
Made his NHL debut on January 2, 2009 as a member of the Anaheim Ducks, against the Philadelphia Flyers.
Got his first NHL point (an assist) on January 30, 2009 while with the Anaheim Ducks, against the Colorado Avalanche.
Has played in 86 career NHL games with Anaheim and Calgary. He has registered six assists and 40 penalty minutes.
Won the 2007 Memorial Cup as a member of the Vancouver Giants. Teammate of NHLers Milan Lucic and Evander Kane and with the Giants.
Played 33 games this season with Abbotsford of the AHL, and registered three goals and 12 assists.
Mikkelson's father, Bill, played in the NHL for the Los Angeles Kings, New York Islanders and Washington Capitals in the 1970s, while his sister, Meaghan, plays on the Canadian national women's team and won a gold medal at the 2010 Winter Olympics
