The Tampa Bay Lightning announced today Hockey on the Beach, part of the Lightning Made programs, a free hockey clinic on Saturday, December 15 from 3-5 p.m. The clinic will take place at the Bandshell Ice Skating Rink located at 70 Boardwalk in Daytona Beach. Lightning legend and former NHL All-Star Brian Bradley will be in attendance to instruct children about the game of hockey.
Hockey on the Beach is geared toward children from the ages of four to nine of any skill level. Rolling Thunder, the Lightning’s mobile fan truck, will be present at Hockey on the Beach as well, equipped with interactive games and prizes for all patrons in attendance.
The Bandshell Ice Skating Rink is a 60 x 80 foot outdoor rink located on the beach and is a staple in the Daytona community during the winter season. The rink is accompanied by many festive decorations and events including, holiday lights and music capped off with the backdrop of the Atlantic Ocean that people can enjoy seven days a week.
The Lightning support the growth and development of hockey initiatives throughout the State of Florida by way of the Lightning Made programs. Lightning Made programs are aimed at enabling aspiring hockey players the ability to grow and improve their skills through individual player development both on and off the ice.
