Filling Foster's Spot

by Lightning Insider / Tampa Bay Lightning

The Lightning had an afternoon video session and practice today at the RBC Center.  The video session lasted about 45 minutes as the team prepares to take on the Hurricanes tomorrow.  Based on practice it looks as though David Hale will take Kurtis Foster's spot in the line up as he nurses a lower body injury.  Head Coach Rick Tocchet did say however that it may change depending on Carolina's line up tomorrow.

Tocchet praised Matt Smaby's dedication to the team even though he will not be on the ice.  Smaby does all the right things and is a great team guy.  It seems as though the Lightning's depth on defense has hurt his chances of cracking the roster.  He was the first guy on the ice today and one of the last to come off.  That will not go unnoticed by the coaching staff.

The team will have an 11:30 a.m. morning skate tomorrow as they try and bounce back and even their record at 1-1-0.  Carolina will be without Erik Cole who suffered a broken leg against Boston on Saturday night.
