Facing the Canes Tonight

by Lightning Insider / Tampa Bay Lightning

The Lightning will try to bounce back tonight after Saturday's loss against another Southeast Division foe, the Carolina Hurricanes.  The 'Canes will also be looking to rebound after losing their previous game, 7-3, to Boston (also losing Erik Cole to a broken leg in the process).

Mike Smith will get his second consecutive start in goal for Tampa Bay.  Smitty would probably tell you he needs to be better, but some of those wacky bounces in Atlanta hopefully won't happen again.

David Hale will see his first action of the season tonight in place of Kurtis Foster who is out with a lower body injury.  Hale said he plans on making the best of the opportunity and that is what Rick Tocchet likes to hear.

No changes up front as the Lightning will hopefully do a better job of converting on their chances tonight than they did on Saturday.

Due to VERSUS exclusivity, there is no TV tonight so the game can only be heard on 620 WDAE starting at 7 p.m.
