Degrees of Separation: Lightning vs. Coyotes

by Michelle Gingras / Tampa Bay Lightning

The Lightning open up a four-game home stand tonight against the Arizona Coyotes. Last season the Bolts dropped both contests to the Coyotes. Tonight will be the first of two meetings between the teams. Tonight is also Hockey Fights Cancer Night at Amalie Arena. Puck drops at 7:30 p.m. and you can follow the action on Sun Sports and 970 WFLA starting at 7:00 p.m.

Here are tonight's degrees of connections between the Bolts and Coyotes:

The Lightning are looking for their first win over the Coyotes since January 21,2012 when they defeated Arizona 4-3.

B.J. Crombeen makes his first return to Tampa as a member of the Coyotes. Crombeen previously spent two seasons with the Lightning.

Mike Smith also returns to play his former team tonight. Smith was a member of the Lightning from 2008-11.

Ondrej Palat led all skaters against the Coyotes last season with three points. He enters tonight's game with three points in his last three games.

Lightning forward Brendan Morrow played for Coyotes head coach Dave Tippet when he coached the Stars between 2002-09.

Former teammates BJ Crombeen and Ben Bishop share a birthplace of Denver, Colorado.
