Hello Bolts Nation!
Should be a lot of energy in the Tampa Bay Times Forum today with the Penguins in town. They've brought out the best in the Lightning in recent meetings, with the comeback from 3-1 down in the playoffs last season and an entertaining 4-1 win here Nov. 17. In our Sun Sports coverage, watch for this if the Bolts are to keep the good times rolling vs. Pitt:
| ||KEY 1: GET TO FLEURY |
Assuming he's playing, we know he's a premier goaltender, but the Bolts have fared well in winning four straight against him. In the playoffs, Tampa Bay drove the net for rebounds with success. Bolts averaged 4.5 goals on offense in six home games before the Carolina game.
| ||KEY 2: RULE THE TOUGH AREAS |
Puck battles, front of the net, that's where they turned the series last spring. It's no secret those are keys every game, but coming off a strong effort in those areas in Washington trying to come back against a big Caps team, a carry-over could be the difference today.
| ||KEY 3: WIN SPECIAL TEAMS |
Another basic, but it's true every game and the Lightning are due to have the edge here. In the 4-1 over Pitt in November, the Bolts went 2-6 on the PP, the last time TB scored 2 in a game. They also killed 7 penalties, and are 24-24 vs. the Pens in the four straight wins.
Enjoy the game everyone!
