Tampa Bay is 5-4-1 since Jeff Halpern returned to the line-up … Their power play has gone from 14.0 percent to 21.4 percent with Halpern and the penalty kill has gone from 79.9 percent to 85.4 percent.

Vaclav Prospal has three goals and eight points in the previous six games after being held without a point in the prior nine games (12/8-12/27)

This Week’s Games:

1/12 at the Los Angeles Kings (17-18-6)

This is only meeting between the teams this season.

The Lightning have won two consecutive games against the Kings, including 5-0-2 record in the previous seven games in L.A.

Tampa Bay has a 10-1-2 record all-time in Los Angeles.

Mike Smith has never lost to the Kings, posting a 4-0-0 record with one shutout and a 1.75 GAA.

Mark Recchi has 16 career goals and 31 points in 28 games against Los Angeles while Martin St. Louis has four goals and 10 points in nine career games.


1/13 at the San Jose Sharks (31-5-5)

This is the second and final meeting between the Lightning and Sharks this season with San Jose taking the only other meeting, 3-0, at the St. Pete Times Forum on October 25.

The two teams have not met in San Jose since January 16, 2006 … Tampa Bay has a 1-1-0 in the past two games at the HP Pavilion at San Jose.

Tampa Bay has not beaten the Sharks since March 24, 2003 (3/24/03 TBL 4 @ SJS 1).


1/15 vs. the Philadelphia Flyers (23-10-9)

This is the third of four meetings between the Lightning and Flyers this season and the first at the St. Pete Times Forum.

The Lightning have earned a point in every game against Philadelphia this season, going 1-0-1.

Tampa Bay has outscored the Flyers 4-2 in the second and third periods combined this season.

Former Flyer Vaclav Prospal leads the Lightning with two goals and three points against Philadelphia this season.


1/17 vs. the Florida Panthers (20-16-6)


This is the fifth of six meetings between the Lightning and Panthers in 2008-09 and the last at the St. Pete Times Forum.

Tampa Bay is 4-1-1 against Florida in the previous six meetings at home, including 1-0-1 this season.

Steve Eminger leads the Lightning in points against Florida this season with six (2-4-6).

Evgeny Artyukhin leads the Lightning with three goals against the Panthers this season … He has three goals and four points against them in four games.


1/19 vs. the Dallas Stars (17-17-6)

This is the only meeting between the Bolts and Stars this season.

Former Lightning C Brad Richards will return to Tampa Bay for the first time since being traded to Dallas on February 26, 2008.

The Lightning are 2-1-1 in their previous four meetings against Dallas, but have a 1-10-2 record all-time against them at home.

Former Dallas goaltender Mike Smith has never faced the Stars in his career.

Matt Pettinger has three goals and six points in five career games against Dallas, while Ryan Craig has a goal and three points in two career games.
