Rookie camp is less than a week away and there's a lot of Lightning prospects that hope to make the big club this October. Nineteen-year-old Andrei Vasilevskiy, a product of the 2012 NHL draft and 19th overall pick by the Bolts, is one player however, who will remain in Russia with Salavat Yulaey Ufa of the KHL.
While the "Russian factor" always poses its questions of commitment to playing in North America these exclusive photos of Vailevskiy's goalie mask can help silence any doubts.
The mask, which pictures were sent from Sylabrush Airbrush's Sylvie Marsolais, was first custom-molded by Dom Malerba from Pro's Choice before being sent to Sylvie.
Sylvie then got to work on the helmet that features a cat-like figure, a Chevy Camaro and a knight on a horse with a Russian emblem, complete with sparkling blues and candy effects to give it a distinct look.
Fans may be anticipating seeing the Lightning's Steven Stamkos in Bolt blue and white, but before returning to Tampa Bay, he suited up for Sharp Magazine.
As much as I love a clean-cut Stamkos, I'm ready to see him in a Lightning sweater. #IsItOctoberYet?
Earlier in August we learned that Tampa Bay's Tyler Johnson and Brett Connolly were closet "Beliebers," but this week Teddy Purcell, Nate Thompson and Alex Killorn offered us insight into their own musical preferences.
And it may or may not have included Miley Cyrus.
While Cyrus received criticism and found herself trending in the Twitterverse immediately following her MTV Video Music Awards performance this past weekend, the Bolts Purcell, Thompson and Killorn all partook in the twitter talk.
Purcell started with the following Tweet:
To which Killorn hinted what might have been giving Purcell the anxiety with this tweet:
Luckily their night was saved as hinted by this tweet from Thompson
Does this mean Cyrus or Justin Timberlake will also make the locker room playlist this coming season?
