Cool Story of the Week
We all know that Steven Stamkos missed playing in the Olympics last year in Sochi, Russia thanks to the fractured leg he suffered last season.
Something special happened last week related to that story
The Lightning practiced at the Hockey Canada training facility in Calgary and several of the Lightning spent time in the Hallway of Champions finding themselves and seeing all of the trophies located there
While there, Hockey Canada surprised Stamkos by giving him an Olympic Champions ring even though he didn't play in the games. He was originally named to the roster and participated in the summer training sessions with the team before his injury.
Here's a picture of what the ring looks like thanks to Matt Duchene posting pictures of his ring when he received it this summer.
Goal of the Week
Here's a combination that Lightning fans hope to see for years to come. Jonathan Drouin has been producing highlight-reel goals for most of his career to this point in junior hockey but this is the first time he wowed fans with his playmaking abilities at the NHL level.
Save of the Week
This didn't count as a save in the box score but Ben Bishop showed off some of his baseball skills by catching the puck behind his back with his glove after it bounced back onto the ice off the protective netting
Save of the Week - Prospect edition
Lightning prospect Adam Wilcox is in his junior year at the University of Minnesota and he made probably the best save of the week in all of hockey on Friday night. Watch for yourself and be sure to see the fans reaction after
Hit of the Week
Ryan Callahan delivered this tough hit and it broke the camera that sits above the goalie on top of the glass in Edmonton. Oops.
