Ben Bishop leaves game in Pittsburgh with lower-body injury

by Andrew DeWitt / Tampa Bay Lightning

Lightning goalie Ben Bishop made the start against the Pittsburgh Penguins and made four saves on five shots in the first period but did not return to the ice for the second period with a lower-body injury.

Backup Evgeni Nabokov replaced Bishop in net. The Lightning eventually lost 4-2 to the Penguins but it was Bishop's injury that overshadowed the game.

Brandon Sutter scored a goal on the final shot that Bishop faced in the first period. Sutter's shot appeared to be going wide of the net but it hit off the knob of Bishop's stick and into the net.

Bishop didn't return for the second period and Cooper indicated Bishop immediately told Cooper he wouldn't be returning for the second period. Bishop didn't return to the bench during the final two periods.
