NEW FEATURE, SPONSORED BY UNIVERSITY COMMUNITY HEALTH, LETS FANS CONNECT WITH LIGHTNING MEDICAL STAFF
As the 2006-07 National Hockey League season gets underway this week, a new interactive feature will make its debut on Tampabaylightning.com as well. "Ask The Trainer," sponsored by University Community Health, will give fans the opportunity to submit questions to Lightning Athletic Trainer Tom Mulligan via the team's website.
Mulligan, in his fifth year with the Lightning after four seasons with the AHL's Providence Bruins, will respond to as many questions as possible each week and his answers will be posted on Tampabaylightning.com.
Fans will be asked to use a special form on Tampabaylightning.com to submit their question. They are being encouraged to ask about the career path of an athletic trainer, the daily responsibilities, life on the road with the Lightning, the treatment of sports-related injuries or any other sports medicine questions. Areas that have to be avoided are specific questions relating to Lightning injuries or confidential team information, due to medical privacy laws.
